It is likely that the construction industry will take some time to fully recover, a new study has suggested. The Construction Skills Network said that those with builders' insurance are likely to have seen their output reduced by 13 per cent throughout the course of 2009.It believes that 375,000 jobs will have been lost in the sector between 2008 and 2010.Mark Farrar, chief executive of the Construction Skills Network, said: "We are concerned that, given the scale of the public sector deficit, potential funding cuts in the period ahead will further exacerbate the loss of skills before private sector investment has fully recovered."He added that the recovery process is likely to be both long and slow for business insurance policyholders. The Federation of Master Builders recently reported that 44 per cent of firms expect their workloads to decline further in the first quarter of 2010.Click to compare quotes for tradesman insurance at Coverzones.com.Posted by Marie Harrison.
