It is difficult to predict how the construction industry will fare over the coming year, an expert has suggested.A spokesperson for the Union of Construction, Allied Trades and Technicians (Ucatt) revealed how business insurance policyholders have been experiencing bad times. He continued: "The biggest challenge to training new construction workers is the lack of apprenticeships being offered. "That was [even] a factor when the industry was booming."The spokesperson noted that the recession has had a negative impact on those with builders insurance, so the extent of the recovery remains very much uncertain.Earlier this month, the Society of Chartered Surveyors predicted that 40,000 more jobs will be lost in the property and construction sectors in 2010.The number of people employed in the industry will fall to under 100,000 having been as high as 267,000 in 2007, it suggested, showing the extent of the problems faced by those with builders' insurance.Compare, choose and buy company insurance with Coverzones.Posted by Peter Lane.
